This research was a peer exchange designed to bring together teams comprised of state economic development executives and transportation agency leaders and communications specialists who jointly are responsible for making decisions and communicating with stakeholders to deliver a safe, effective, environmentally responsible, and fiscally sound transportation system that enhances economic wellbeing and competitiveness. Each state’s team presented a case example illustrating how transportation investment was used to address an economic development opportunity or challenge. The workshop was held on August 17-18, 2015, in Detroit, Michigan. A report of that exchange, published as Transportation Research Circular E-C202, is available for download by clicking here.
