This study was intended to evaluate methods used to estimate the funding requirements for major reconstruction/rehabilitation needs of the current highway infrastructure, and to develop a plan to assess the errors in rehabilitation and reconstruction cost estimating. The work was accomplished as a part of NCHRP Project 20-24(52) Future Options for the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways.
