Task 153, FY 2002 "Update of the AASHTO Transportation Glossary", (The Strategy Group, Inc.). The AASHTO Transportation Glossary provides standardized definitions for many of the terms and acronyms that are used in the transportation engineering profession. This glossary spans all of the modal divisions in the profession, from aviation to water transportation to highway to public transportation, and contains over 1,500 terms and definitions. However, the glossary has been published only twice in the past 40 years - once in the late 1960s and once in the early 1980s. This task updated the AASHTO Transportation Glossary to reflect the most recent terms and definitions in use in the transportation engineering profession. The final glossary was delivered in April, 2004 and it has been forwarded to AASHTO for publication and distribution. (NCHRP Staff: C.J. Hedges)
