Task 142, FY 2001, "National Strategic Plan for Managing Transportation Information" (B. A. Harder and Associates). This study outlined the process needed to develop a national strategic plan for managing information in the field of transportation. The study looked at how transportation organizations manage, store and retrieve bibliographic information, and discusses the respective roles of state DOT libraries, FHWA, TRB and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics National Transportation Library. The study is now complete and the report will be distributed to AASHTO RAC. The recommendations of the report will be implemented in a TRB Division B policy study, funded by the NCHRP.
