Task 127, FY 2000, "A Strategic Plan (Road Map) for Pavement Research". This project provided funding to support the participation of pavement engineers from throughout the United States in a workshop to develop a strategic plan, or "road map," for needed research in the area of pavements. In coordination with the AASHTO Joint Task Force on Pavements (JTFP), a steering group formed, reviewed the issues associated with the proposed workshop, and defined the expected outcomes of the workshop and potential participants. The workshop was held on October 1-3, 2000; individuals from the different sectors of the highway community participated in the workshop. The final report was forwarded to the chair and members of the AASHTO Joint Task Force on Pavements. NCHRP Research Results Digest 276 summarizes the primary thrust areas of "business needs" for pavement engineering that were identified in the workshop and adopted by the AASHTO Joint Task Force on Pavements.
