Task 90, FY 1997, "TRAC--The Next Generation" (John S. Miller, Virginia Transportation Research Council). This study defined concepts for the next generation of hands-on equipment (called the TRAC PAC) to be used in high school and junior high school classrooms to help students become aware of careers in transportation and civil engineering. The project solicited input from educators currently using TRAC in the classroom and from member departments wanting to restructure and update the program. The principal investigator interacted with the AASHTO Special Committee for TRAC at a meeting in early March 1999. The project results and frank observations were very much appreciated by the Special Committee. The final report has been distributed to the Special Committee.
