Task 46, FY 1991, "AASHTO Guidelines for Bridge Management Systems" (The Urban Institute). The AASHTO Guidelines for Pavement Management Systems was published in 1990 based on work completed under NCHRP Project 20-7, Task 38. AASHTO also recognized the need and advantage of developing a companion guide document for Bridge Management Systems. The document will provide guidance to states that are in the early phases of Bridge Management System development, guide states with existing systems toward state-of-the-art practices, identify and encourage areas of uniformity of certain practices and data, and assist states in providing guidance to local transportation agencies. The project is completed, and AASHTO has published the document.
