OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this research were to (1) determine the key properties of foamed asphalt binders that significantly influence the performance of asphalt mixtures and (2) develop laboratory protocols for foaming of asphalt binders and laboratory mixing procedures.
A three-part compilation of the critical reviews of the literature on warm mix asphalt technologies conducted in NCHRP Projects 9-47, 9-47A, 9-49, 9-49A, and 9-53 is available here: Part I; Part II; and Part III.
