e-TOOL FOR BUSINESS PROCESSES TO IMPROVE TRAVEL TIME RELIABILITY (L34)

A report that explores an e-tool to assist transportation agencies when evaluating their processes to improve travel time reliability, and details the functional requirements, software architecture, and content development for the e-tool.

An e-Tool design based on the L01 Project Integrating Business Processes to Improve Travel Time Reliability, which follows a seven step process for business process reengineering to improve operations and reliability.
By understanding and visually mapping the manner in which operational and programmatic functions are undertaken, agencies may identify areas for improvement that will lead to improved travel time reliability. This e-Tool is intended for use by State and local agency managers and stakeholders who are responsible for overseeing operations, such as DOTs, law enforcement, fire/EMS, emergency management, and others that have an influence on travel time reliability business processes.
The project is now complete and the report and e-Tool are available here.
