This research is the continuation of a previous IDEA project (NCHRP-88). Stereovision has been applied in various industries for visualization and inspection. Photogrammetry in highway engineering is a good example. With rapid advances of computing power and digital camera technology, application of stereovision in automated pavement distress surveys became a research topic. The purpose of this research is to validate findings of the previous research and produce a working device based on stereovision techniques for pavement distress surveys.
