The objective of this research was to organize, facilitate, and document a CEO peer exchange workshop with an invited group of state transportation agency CEOs to discuss leadership challenges in state transportation agencies. The workshop was designed to engage senior AASHTO, TRB, and Federal Highway Administration officials as well the state agency CEOs. The research team supported AASHTO and participant identification of topics to be the basis for discussions at the workshop, developed the agenda and background materials, provided logistical support, facilitated discussions, and documented those discussions. The event was held in November 2017 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. A contractor's summary report prepared for AASHTO's use is available for download by clicking here.
