The current version of the Guide Specifications for Highway Construction was published by AASHTO in 2008.  A recent review by the AASHTO Highway Subcommittee on Construction (SCOC) revealed the need for updating the Guide Specifications to include, in addition to editorial revisions, substantive changes to recognize the use of different contract methods (e.g., alternative contacting methods), the changes in construction practices and technologies, and other relevant items.  The project will develop material to update the 2008 AASHTO “Guide Specifications for Highway Construction” to address changes in construction practices, technologies, contracting methods, and other relevant topics. Research is complete.  The final report has been provided to the AASHTO Committee on Construction for review and adoption as the new edition of AASHTO Guide Specifications for Highway Construction.
