Pilot Projects to Validate the Results of T-PICS (C33A)

A pilot test report with conclusions from the comparison of results from a web-based sketch planning tool to measure the economic development impacts of 14 transportation projects to the 14 actual case studies with real world recorded economic impact results.

This pilot project will lead to further refinement of the T-PICS tool and better guidance as to optimum usage of the tool (i.e., early in the planning process).

With T-PICS planners can provide decision makers with better information for determining whether a region will be economically better off because of a transportation investment, and, if so, by how much.  More realistic estimates lead to more credible decisions that can garner support and expedite the agreement process.
